Sustainable Cement Industry

The Cement Association of Canada, or CAC, represents eight companies that are committed to the sustainable cement industry. Cement is literally the building block of many Canadian buildings, and it may be a more Sustainable Building solution that you think.

We strive to promote the benefits of building with cement, as well as to constantly improve our manufacturing processes in order to reduce carbon emissions, keep employee health and safety as our top priority and minimise our impact on the environment and on communities.

Canadian cement manufacturers have won several awards pertaining to sustainability and Green Building standards. These include the 2010 Environmental Performance Award, the 2009 Ontario Energy Excellence Award and the 2006 Land Stewardship Award. The CAC looks forward to achieving greater environmental friendliness through innovative solutions as we head into the future.
