At the lab, our scientists are dedicated to Photovoltaic (PV) research. The researchers make their primary focus on boosting Solar cell conversion efficiencies. They also work to lower the cost of solar cells, modules, and Systems, and also making PV components and systems much more reliable in their operations.

Our lab's PV effort contributes to these aims through fundamental and vigorous research by using advanced materials and devices as well as implementing technology development. We are also helping to contribute to the national goal of making large-scale solar Energy systems cost-competitive with other energy sources by 2020.
