Little Qualicum Cheeseworks

Little Qualicum Cheeseworks makes cheese from milk produced from cows on their farm. BC SPCA has audited their farm and certified that they meet or exceed their standards of animal husbandry. The Land Conservancy (TLC) certifies that they are actively improving their 68 acre farm and that it is a habitat for a variety of wild animals. Their cows are free range grazing cows. No synthetic fertilizers are used on their pastures. The cows spread plenty of their own fertilizer. Their barn lighting is by compact flourescents on timers. If you are interesting in touring the farm operation, self guided tour maps are available for all. For something a bit more formal they offer guided tours and hay rides for groups of 8 or more, but you need to call ahead and book these.
